Then the whole expanse of the sky—thronged with gods and Gandharvas—shone brilliantly, like the autumn heavens painted with countless stars.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse conveys that when the divine order becomes manifest, the world appears clarified and radiant—symbolized by the autumn sky. The gathering of devas and gandharvas suggests auspicious alignment and a moment where higher forces witness or sanction the unfolding narrative.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes the entire sky becoming crowded with celestial beings. That heaven, filled with devas and gandharvas, shines like the clear autumn firmament studded with innumerable stars, emphasizing the grandeur of the moment.
