मार्कण्डेय उवाच
A ruler’s strength is grounded in dharma: respectful dialogue with sages and receptivity to their blessings symbolize governance guided by wisdom, restraint, and moral legitimacy rather than mere force.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates that sages, Gandharvas, and the wise Ṛṣi Uttaṅka speak with the king and then confer diverse benedictions upon him, marking a transition where counsel and auspicious support are granted.
