Vaiśampāyana uvāca | nāradas tv atha devarṣiḥ jñātvā tāṁs tu kṛtakṣaṇān | mārkaṇḍeyasya vadataḥ tāṁ kathām anvamodata ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Then the divine seer Nārada, perceiving that they had made themselves ready and found the proper leisure to listen, approved of that narrative as it was being spoken by the sage Mārkaṇḍeya.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic attitude toward wisdom: creating the right occasion to hear a worthy discourse and showing respectful assent to a true and beneficial narrative delivered by a realized sage.
As Mārkaṇḍeya is speaking a story, Nārada notices that the listeners are prepared and attentive; he then expresses approval of Mārkaṇḍeya’s narration, affirming the value of the forthcoming teaching.
