Kubera-prasāda-vihāra and Counsel on Ajñātavāsa (कुबेरप्रसादविहारः तथा अज्ञातवासोपदेशः)
लक्षयित्वा च मां भीतमिदं वचनमत्रवीत् । अर्जुनार्जुन मा भैस्त्वं वज्रमस्त्रमुदीरय,इस प्रकार मुझे भयभीत हुआ देख मातलिने कहा--'अर्जुन! अर्जुन! तुम डरो मत। इस समय वच्ञास्त्रका प्रयोग करो”
lakṣayitvā ca māṁ bhītam idaṁ vacanam atravīt | arjunārjuna mā bhaiḥ tvaṁ vajram astram udīraya ||
Seeing me frightened, Mātali spoke these words: “Arjuna, Arjuna—do not be afraid. Now unleash the Vajra-weapon.”
अजुन उवाच
Fear should not govern action; one must regain composure and apply appropriate, lawful power at the right time. The exhortation “mā bhaiḥ” emphasizes inner steadiness and duty-aligned courage.
Mātali, witnessing Arjuna’s momentary fear, encourages him and instructs him to deploy the Vajra-weapon, indicating an urgent, high-stakes confrontation where divine means are required.
