Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the dharmic value of attentive inquiry and faithful transmission: a listener seeks a complete, accurate account of a hero’s conduct and deeds, implying that understanding virtue and strength requires detailed narration rather than vague praise.

Within the frame dialogue, King Janamejaya requests the narrator to recount, in detail, the exploits of Bhīma—specifically what Bhīma did while on the Himavat (Himalaya), setting up the forthcoming description of his Himalayan adventures.
