आगताय च रामाय तदाचष्ट पिता स्वयम्‌ | गां च रोरुदतीं दृष्टवा कोपो रामं समाविशत्‌,जब परशुरामजी आश्रममें आये तब स्वयं जमदग्निने उनसे सारी बातें कहीं। बारंबार डकराती हुई होमकी धेनुपर भी उनकी दृष्टि पड़ी। इससे वे अत्यन्त कुपित हो उठे

Transliteration

āgatāya ca rāmāya tadācaṣṭa pitā svayam | gāṁ ca rorudatīṁ dṛṣṭvā kopo rāmaṁ samāviśat ||

Translation

When Rāma (Paraśurāma) arrived, his father Jamadagni himself told him what had happened. Seeing the sacrificial cow lowing repeatedly in distress, anger entered Rāma—his wrath rising at the violation of what was entrusted to their hermitage and the injury done to a sacred, protected being.
