Harm done through wickedness can become morally irreversible: even death and the journey to Yama’s realm cannot erase the suffering one has caused. The verse stresses accountability and the limits of late remorse.
Vidura delivers a sharp rebuke to a sinful person, declaring that the wrongdoer will be powerless to remedy the grief inflicted on others—symbolized by the tears of Hiḍimbā and Bakāsura—even after reaching Yama’s abode.
