मैत्रेयागमनम् — The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
atha jarjarasarvāṅgaṃ vyāvṛttanayanolbaṇam | bhūtale bhrāmayāmāsa vākyaṃ cedam uvāca ha ||
Then, with all his limbs shattered and his eyes rolling wildly—making him appear even more terrifying—Bhīma whirled Kirmīra about upon the ground and spoke these words. The scene underscores the moral logic of the episode: violent arrogance and predation meet a fitting, immediate consequence at the hands of one who protects his own and restrains a menace to the innocent.

The verse highlights a dharmic pattern common in the Mahābhārata: a dangerous aggressor who threatens others is checked by decisive strength, and cruelty rebounds upon the cruel. Power is shown as legitimate when used to protect and to end harm.
Kirmīra has been grievously battered—his body broken and eyes rolling—so he looks even more fearsome. Bhīma then whirls him around on the ground and begins to speak, marking the climax of Bhīma’s overpowering of the rākṣasa.
