सगरोपाख्यानम् — कपिलकोपः, अंशुमतः विनयः, तथा भगीरथपरम्परा

Sagara Upākhyāna: Kapila’s Wrath, Aṃśumān’s Reverence, and the Bhāgīratha Line

स तप्यमान: सुमहत्‌ तपो योगसमन्वित: । आससाद महात्मानं त्र्यक्षं त्रिपुरमर्दनम्‌

sa tapyamānaḥ sumahat tapo yogasamanvitaḥ | āsasāda mahātmānaṃ tryakṣaṃ tripuramardanam ||

Enduring intense austerities and disciplined in yogic practice, he approached the great-souled Three-eyed Lord—Śiva, the destroyer of Tripura.
