Krishna’s Entry into Hastināpura and Court Reception
yat tu kārya mahābāho manasā kāryatāṃ gatam | sarvopāyair na tac chakyaṃ kenacit kartum anyathā ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “O mighty-armed one, when Kṛṣṇa has resolved upon an action in his mind and set it firmly as the course to be done, no one—though employing every possible stratagem—can make that purpose turn out otherwise.”
Firm, righteous resolve—especially in a leader like Kṛṣṇa—carries an inevitability that cannot be overturned by external maneuvers; it highlights the power of determined will aligned with a larger moral and strategic vision.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war deliberations, Vaiśaṃpāyana underscores Kṛṣṇa’s decisive agency: once Kṛṣṇa has mentally fixed a course of action, others cannot redirect it, even through extensive political or tactical efforts.
