śrībhagavān uvāca | ayam asmi mahābāho brūhi yat te vivakṣitam | kariṣyāmi hi tat sarvaṃ yat tvaṃ vakṣyasi bhārata ||
The Blessed Lord said: “Mighty-armed one, here I stand ready. Speak whatever you wish to say. O Bhārata, whatever you command, I shall surely carry out in full.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethic of committed support: a trusted ally (here, the Blessed Lord) offers readiness, attentive listening, and faithful execution of what is requested—an ideal of dependable counsel and service aligned with dharma.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations and preparations, the Blessed Lord responds to a Bharata prince with assurance: he is present and prepared to do whatever the prince asks, signaling alliance and willingness to act.
