Sañjaya said: “O bull among the Bharatas, the brother of the lord of Cedi—Śarabha—has come, accompanied by Karakarṣa. Joining with those allies, he has set himself to the enterprise of fighting against you, aligning his strength in support of the Pāṇḍavas.”

The verse highlights how political and familial ties shape moral choices in a dharma-conflict: warriors and princes commit to sides, turning ethical disagreement into organized war through alliances and deliberate ‘udyoga’ (undertaking).
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Śarabha, brother of the Cedi ruler, has arrived with Karakarṣa and has joined the effort to fight—supporting the Pāṇḍavas and preparing to oppose the Kaurava side.
