nāradenāpi rājendra devendrasya niveśane | kathitā bharataśreṣṭha pṛṣṭenākliṣṭakarmaṇā ||
Bhīṣma said: O king, even Nārada—when questioned by Indra in the dwelling of the lord of the gods—recounted this very account. O best of the Bhāratas, it was spoken by that sage of unwearied righteous action, affirming dharma in the highest assemblies as guidance for rulers.

That dharmic instruction gains special authority when it is affirmed by revered sages (like Nārada) and discussed even in divine assemblies; rulers should treat such teachings as reliable guidance for righteous governance.
Bhīṣma tells the king that the same story he is narrating was also told by Nārada in Indra’s residence, in response to Indra’s question—framing the account as well-attested and worthy of attention.
