Nāgendra–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda: Praśna-vidhi and Dharmic Approach on the Gomatī Riverbank
आराध्य तपसोग्रेण देवं हयशिरोधरम् । पज्चालेन क्रम: प्राप्तो देवेन पथि देशिते,महादेवजीके बताये हुए मार्गपर चलकर उग्र तपस्याद्वारा भगवान् हयग्रीवकी आराधना करके पांचालदेशीय गालवमुनिने वेदोंका क्रमविभाग प्राप्त किया था
Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca |
ārādhya tapasogreṇa devaṃ hayaśirodharam |
pañcālena kramaḥ prāpto devena pathi deśite ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: By worshipping with fierce austerities the god who bears a horse’s head—Hayagrīva—the sage Galava of the Pañcāla country obtained the ordered arrangement of the Vedas, following the path that the deity himself had shown.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
Sacred knowledge is preserved and rightly organized through disciplined austerity (tapas) joined with devotion and correct guidance; effort becomes fruitful when aligned with a divinely indicated method.
Vaiśaṃpāyana recounts that Galava, a sage associated with Pañcāla, propitiated Hayagrīva through intense austerities and, by following the deity’s instructed path, attained the proper ordered arrangement (krama) of the Vedas.
