शुकस्यैतद् वच: श्रुत्वा व्यास: परमविस्मित: । अनध्यायनिमित्तेडस्मिन्निदं वचनमब्रवीत्,शुकदेवजीका यह वचन सुनकर व्यासजी अत्यन्त आश्चर्यसे चकित हो उठे और अनध्यायके कारणपर प्रकाश डालते हुए इस प्रकार बोले--
Transliteration
śukasyaitad vacaḥ śrutvā vyāsaḥ paramavismitaḥ | anadhyāya-nimitte 'sminn idaṃ vacanam abravīt ||
Translation
Bhishma said: Hearing these words of Śuka, Vyāsa was struck with profound amazement. Then, with the intention of clarifying the cause and meaning of ‘anadhyāya’ (the suspension of Vedic study), he spoke the following words.
