Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
paśyati chinnabhūtaṃ hi jīvalokaṃ svakarmaṇā | tat kuruṣva tathā putra kṛtsnaṃ yat samudāhṛtam ||
Vyāsa said: “A person sees this world of living beings as fragmented and torn apart, shaped by each one’s own actions. Therefore, my son, put into practice in full everything that I have declared.”
The verse emphasizes karma: the condition of the living world appears broken and unequal because it is shaped by beings’ own actions. Therefore, ethical instruction is not merely to be heard but to be fully implemented in conduct.
Vyāsa addresses his son (the listener in context) and concludes or reinforces prior counsel, urging him to apply the complete set of teachings he has just expounded, grounding the exhortation in the observable workings of karma in the world.
