स चेन्ममार सूंजय चतुर्भद्रतरस्त्वया । पुत्रात्‌ पुण्यतरश्वैव मा पुत्रमनुतप्यथा:,“सृंजय! वे चारों कल्याणकारी गुणोंमें तुमसे बढ़े-चढ़े थे और तुम्हारे पुत्रसे भी अधिक पुण्यात्मा थे। जब वे भी यहाँ रह न सके, तब दूसरोंकी क्या बात है? अतः तुम्हें अपने पुत्रके लिये शोक नहीं करना चाहिये

Transliteration

sa cen mamāra sṛñjaya caturbhadrataras tvayā | putrāt puṇyataras caiva mā putram anutapyathāḥ ||

Translation

Vāyu said: “O Sṛñjaya, if those men—endowed with fourfold auspicious virtues, superior to you, and even more meritorious than your son—could not remain here in this world, then what can be said of others? Therefore, you should not grieve for your son.”
