Vāyu said: “Rising again and again each morning, he kept giving away hundreds of thousands of cows, and also hundreds of mules, and he continued this practice for a thousand years.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse teaches that true dāna is sustained and disciplined: generosity becomes a long-term dharmic practice, performed consistently rather than as a one-time act for fame.
Vāyu describes a person’s extraordinary vow of giving—rising each day and donating immense numbers of cows and mules—maintained continuously for a thousand years to illustrate the power of steadfast charity.
