संहारविक्षेपसहसत्रकोटी - स्तिष्ठन्ति जीवा: प्रचरन्ति चान्ये । प्रजाविसर्गस्य च पारिमाण्यं वापीसहस्राणि बहूनि दैत्य
Transliteration
saṃhāra-vikṣepa-sahasra-koṭī-stiṣṭhanti jīvāḥ pracaranti cānye | prajā-visargasya ca pārimāṇyaṃ vāpī-sahasrāṇi bahūni daitya ||
Translation
Bhīṣma said: Countless crores of living beings remain poised within the cycles of dissolution and dispersal, while others move about in active existence. And the measure of creation’s outpouring is vast beyond reckoning—like many thousands of reservoirs—O Daitya; thus the world’s becoming and passing is immeasurable, and one should not cling to it as permanent.
