Śakra (Indra) said: “I do not grieve over that, nor over my own fall, O lord of Śacī. My understanding is firmly resolved: I remain always under the governance of the supreme Ruler.”

The verse teaches non-lamentation and steadiness of mind: even personal loss or ‘fall’ should be met with a settled conviction that one lives under a higher moral and cosmic governance (śāstuḥ vaśe). This frames resilience as grounded in dharma and surrender to rightful order rather than in ego or status.
Śakra (Indra) speaks about his own setback or decline in position and declares that he does not grieve. He explains that his intellect is firmly resolved to remain under the control of the supreme Ruler, indicating acceptance and humility amid changing fortune.
