भारारत॑म प्रहृष्टां च दु:खितां संनिमज्जतीम् । अथादितेया: संत्रस्ता ब्रह्माणमिदमन्रुवन्,यह भारसे व्याकुल, हर्ष और उल्लाससे शून्य तथा दुखी हो रसातलमें डूब रही है। यह देखकर अदितिके सभी पुत्र भयसे थर्रा उठे और ब्रह्माजीसे इस प्रकार बोले--
Transliteration
bhārārataṁ prahṛṣṭāṁ ca duḥkhitāṁ saṁnimajjatīm | athāditeyāḥ saṁtrastā brahmāṇam idam anruvan ||
Translation
Bhishma said: “The Earth—bereft of joy and gladness, distressed and sinking down toward the nether regions—was seen in that plight. Beholding her thus, all the sons of Aditi were seized with fear, and they addressed Brahmā in these words.”
