Guru’s Instruction on Dream, Mind, Guṇas, and Knowing Brahman

Svapna–Manas–Guṇa–Brahma-vicāra

पृथिवीमार्तरूपां ते समपश्यन्‌ दिवौकस: । दानवैरभिसंस्तीर्णा घोररूपैर्महाबलै:,समूचे भूमण्डलमें भयानक रूपधारी महाबली दानव फैल गये थे। देवताओंने देखा, यह पृथ्वी दानवोंके पापभारसे पीड़ित एवं आर्त हो उठी है

pṛthivīm ārta-rūpāṃ te samapaśyan divaukasaḥ | dānavair abhisaṃstīrṇā ghorarūpair mahābalaiḥ ||

Bhīṣma said: “The gods beheld the Earth herself as if stricken with anguish. Across the whole circle of the world she lay overrun and strewn with mighty Dānavas of dreadful forms, and the Earth, burdened by their sinful weight, appeared oppressed and distressed—signaling a moral crisis that calls for the restoration of dharma.”
