Bhīṣma said: “This day is auspicious, and this fitting lunar date has arrived. The wealth has already been resolved upon (set aside by intention); what more is there to deliberate beyond this?”

Once an act of dharma—especially giving—has been rightly intended (saṅkalpa) and the proper occasion has arrived, excessive hesitation and over-deliberation are discouraged; one should proceed with firm resolve.
Bhīṣma indicates that the present day and lunar date are auspicious and timely, and that the intended wealth/gift has already been decided upon; therefore he urges moving forward rather than continuing to debate.
