Shloka 96

Śaraṇāgata-Atithi-Dharma in the Kapota Narrative (कपोत-आख्यानम्—शरणागतधर्मः)

ततः समारभत्‌ कर्म दैवं पित्रयं च भारत । आहूय देवानिन्द्रादीन्‌ भागं भागं विधिक्रमात्‌,भरतनन्दन! फिर उन्होंने देवकर्म और पितृकर्म आरम्भ किया। इन्द्र आदि देवताओंका आवाहन करके उनके लिये क्रमश: विधिपूर्वक पृथक्‌-पृथक्‌ भाग अर्पित किया

tataḥ samārabhat karma daivaṁ pitryaṁ ca bhārata | āhūya devān indrādīn bhāgaṁ bhāgaṁ vidhikramāt ||

Bhīṣma said: “Then he began the prescribed rites—both those meant for the gods and those meant for the ancestors, O Bhārata. Having invoked the deities beginning with Indra, he offered to each, in due order, their distinct share according to ritual rule.”
