Śaraṇāgata-Atithi-Dharma in the Kapota Narrative (कपोत-आख्यानम्—शरणागतधर्मः)

ततोडग्निमुपसंहृत्य ब्राह्ेण विधिना मुनि: । ऐन्द्राग्नेयेन विधिना चरुं श्रपयत स्वयम्‌,ऐसा सोचकर मुनिने वेदोक्त विधिसे अग्निकी स्थापना करके इन्द्र और अग्निदेवताके उद्देश्यसे स्वयं ही चरु पकाकर तैयार किया

Transliteration

tato 'gnim upasaṁhṛtya brāhmeṇa vidhinā muniḥ | aindrāgneyeṇa vidhinā caruṁ śrapayat svayam ||

Translation

Then, having duly arranged and concluded the fire-rite, the sage—following the Brahmanical procedure taught in the Vedas—personally cooked the sacrificial porridge (caru) according to the ritual method prescribed for Indra and Agni.
