Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)

vaiśampāyana uvāca | praviśya nagaraṃ vīro rathaghoṣeṇa nādayan | dhṛtarāṣṭraṃ tasya āgamanasya sūcitaṃ babhūva | sa ca uttamāt rathāt avatīrya manasi dīnatāṃ na nidhāya dhṛtarāṣṭrasya prāsādaṃ jagāma |

Vaiśampāyana said: Entering the city, the heroic Kṛṣṇa made the quarters resound with the deep rumble of his chariot. Dhṛtarāṣṭra was informed of his arrival; and Kṛṣṇa, alighting from his excellent chariot, went to Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s palace without allowing any dejection to take hold in his mind—maintaining dignity and purpose even amid the ruin of war.
