Kapālamocana-tīrtha (Auśanasa) and Balarāma’s Sarasvatī Pilgrimage
विज्ञप्तो वै महादेव ऋषेरथें नराधिप । नायं नृत्येद् यथा देव तथा त्वं कर्तुमहसि,राजन! नरेश्वर! तब ब्रह्मा आदि देवताओं तथा तपोधन महर्षियोंने ऋषिके विषयमें महादेवजीसे निवेदन किया--'देव! आप ऐसा कोई उपाय करें, जिससे ये मुनि नृत्य न करें
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
vijñapto vai mahādeva ṛṣer arthe narādhipa |
nāyaṁ nṛtyed yathā deva tathā tvaṁ kartum arhasi rājann nareśvara ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “O king, Mahādeva was formally petitioned on behalf of the sage. The gods—headed by Brahmā—and the ascetic great seers submitted a request to Śiva: ‘O Lord, please devise some means by which this muni may not dance.’”
