सरस्वतीतीर्थानुक्रमः — बलरामस्य तीर्थयात्रा
Sarasvatī Tīrtha Itinerary — Balarāma’s Pilgrimage
त्रितो यज्ञेषु कुशलस्त्रितो वेदेषु निछ्ठित:
trito yajñeṣu kuśalas trito vedeṣu niṣṭhitaḥ
Vaiśampāyana said: “Trita was skilled in the performance of sacrifices, and Trita was firmly established in the Vedas.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse upholds an ideal of dharmic excellence: true authority and virtue are shown through both practical mastery of sacred duties (yajña) and firm grounding in scriptural knowledge (Veda), not by mere claim or status.
Vaiśampāyana briefly characterizes Trita, highlighting him as an exemplary figure—competent in sacrificial performance and established in Vedic wisdom—likely to lend weight to a comparison, praise, or moral point in the surrounding passage.
