Sañjaya said: Yuyudhāna (Sātyaki) began to strike down the warriors who followed in the footsteps of the king of Madra. In that same surge of battle, Draupadī’s mighty chariot-fighting sons, together with Sātyaki, set about slaying those Madra-aligned heroes.

The verse highlights how allegiance to a ruler or cause (here, the Madra king Śalya) binds followers to the moral and practical consequences of that leadership. In the battlefield frame of kṣatriya-dharma, warriors act decisively, yet the narrative invites reflection on how collective loyalty can lead many into destruction.
Sañjaya reports that Sātyaki (Yuyudhāna) begins cutting down the warriors aligned with Śalya, the king of Madra. Along with him, Draupadī’s sons (the Draupadeyas), described as great chariot-warriors, also commence the slaughter of those Madra-affiliated fighters.
