Yudhiṣṭhira said: “(I seek permission from) Droṇa, Kṛpa, and the other kings, and also Aśvatthāmā; from Vidura and King Dhṛtarāṣṭra; and from all the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra in their entirety.” Here he formally names the elders and authorities whose consent he must obtain before departing for the forest—obedience to dharma, respect for hierarchy, and restraint amid humiliation.

Even under injustice, Yudhiṣṭhira upholds dharma through disciplined speech and proper conduct—seeking consent from elders and authorities, honoring social and familial order rather than acting in anger.
After the catastrophic events in the Kuru assembly, Yudhiṣṭhira prepares to depart for the forest and formally lists the senior figures—teachers, ministers, the king, and the Kauravas—from whom he must take leave/permission.
