नरकं पातिता: पार्था दीर्घकालमनन्तकम्‌ | सुखाच्च हीना राज्याच्च विनष्टा: शाश्वती: समा:,“कुन्तीके पुत्र दीर्घकालतकके लिये अनन्त दुःखरूप नरकमें गिरा दिये गये। ये सदाके लिये सुखसे वंचित तथा राज्यसे हीन हो गये हैं। जो लोग पहले अपने धनसे उन्मत्त हो धृतराष्ट्रपुत्रोंकी हँसी उड़ाया करते थे, वे ही पाण्डव आज पराजित हो अपने धन-वैभवसे हाथ धोकर वनमें जा रहे हैं

narakaṁ pātitāḥ pārthā dīrghakālam anantakam | sukhāc ca hīnā rājyaāc ca vinaṣṭāḥ śāśvatīḥ samāḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “The Pārthas have been cast down into hell—an endless misery—for a long, long time. Deprived of happiness and stripped of their kingdom, they are ruined for countless years.”
