Yudhiṣṭhira said: “I have well-trained royal conveyances—chariots and wagons—able to endure every command amid the press of battle; their yokes are firm and their frames are massive, all fit for the eightfold teams. Likewise, from each social order, thousands of chosen warriors are gathered and maintained together in my service—men of proven valor, all endowed with heroic prowess.”

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the responsibilities of kingship: disciplined resources (well-trained conveyances) and organized manpower (selected warriors from all social orders) are presented as foundations of effective rule. Ethically, it implies that power should rest on order, training, and accountable stewardship rather than impulse.

Yudhiṣṭhira is describing the scale and readiness of his establishment—his vehicles and the large, assembled body of capable warriors—emphasizing that he possesses substantial, well-organized military and logistical strength.
