शाकलद्दीपवासाश्च सप्तद्वीपेषु ये नृपा: । अर्जुनस्य च सैन्यैस्तैर्विग्रहस्तुमुलो5भवत्,शाकलद्दीप तथा अन्य सातों द्वीपोंमें जो राजा रहते थे, उनके साथ अर्जुनके सैनिकोंका घमासान युद्ध हुआ
śākaladvīpavāsāś ca saptadvīpeṣu ye nṛpāḥ | arjunasya ca sainyais tair vigrahas tumulo 'bhavat ||
Vaiśampāyana said: The kings who dwelt in Śākaladvīpa and in the other island-continents clashed fiercely with Arjuna’s forces; a tumultuous battle arose.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when undertaken under royal policy or duty, conquest generates violent resistance and suffering; the verse highlights the ethical weight of warfare and the need to measure power against dharma.
Narration reports that the kings residing in Śākaladvīpa and the other dvīpas engaged Arjuna’s troops, resulting in a fierce and tumultuous battle.
