Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ
Commencement of the Regulated Duel
तान् पाद्यमधुपकाह्िन् गवार्हान् सत्कृतिं गतान् | प्रत्युत्थाय जरासंध उपतस्थे यथाविधि,वे पाद्य, मधुपर्क और गोदान पानेके योग्य थे। उनका सर्वत्र सत्कार होता था। उन्हें आया देख जरासंध उठकर खड़ा हो गया और उसने विधिपूर्वक उनका आतिथ्य-सत्कार किया
tān pādyamadhupakārhān gavārhān satkṛtiṃ gatān | pratyutthāya jarāsaṃdha upatasthe yathāvidhi ||
They were worthy of the traditional honors of hospitality—water for washing the feet, the madhuparka offering, and the gift of a cow—and were received with respect everywhere. Seeing them arrive, Jarāsandha rose to greet them and, in due form, attended to them with proper rites of welcome.
