With palms joined and head bowed in humility, the messenger made his petition to Mādhava. The messenger said: “O Hṛṣīkeśa, mighty-armed one! King Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira, together with Dhaumya, Vyāsa, and other great sages, along with the Pāñcālas and Matsyas, and with all his brothers, longs to behold you.” Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing Indrasena’s words, Acyuta—the strong foremost of the Yādavas—desiring that meeting as well, turned his mind toward Pārtha, who was likewise eager for Kṛṣṇa’s sight.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The passage highlights dharmic conduct in public life: humility and proper etiquette (bowing, folded hands) in communication, and the ethical importance of seeking wise counsel and strengthening righteous alliances through respectful invitation and audience (darśana).
A messenger (Indrasena) respectfully conveys that Yudhiṣṭhira, accompanied by sages like Dhaumya and Vyāsa and allied rulers of the Pāñcālas and Matsyas, wishes to see Kṛṣṇa. Hearing this, Kṛṣṇa—also eager for the meeting—responds with attention toward Arjuna, who likewise longs for Kṛṣṇa’s presence.
