Jarāsandha as Obstacle to the Rājasūya — Kṛṣṇa’s Strategic Genealogical Brief
Sabhā Parva, Adhyāya 13
अविचार्य महाराज राजसूये मन: कुरु । इत्येवं सुह्ृदः सर्वे पृथक् च सह चाब्रुवन्,“अत: किसी प्रकारका सोच-विचार न करके आप राजसूयके अनुष्ठानमें मन लगाइये।” इस प्रकार उनके सभी सुहृदोंने अलग-अलग और सम्मिलित होकर अपनी यही सम्मति प्रकट की
avikārya mahārāja rājasūye manaḥ kuru | ityevaṃ suhṛdaḥ sarve pṛthak ca saha cābruvan |
Vaiśampāyana said: “O great king, without wavering in doubt, set your mind upon the Rājasūya.” Thus all his well-wishers—some individually and some together—voiced the same counsel, urging him to proceed without hesitation toward the royal consecration.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical value of steady resolve in rightful action: when a king’s duty and legitimate aim are affirmed by trusted well-wishers, he should not be paralyzed by overthinking but commit his mind to the undertaking.
Vaiśampāyana reports that the king’s friends and advisers, speaking both individually and in unison, encourage him to focus on performing the Rājasūya royal consecration and to proceed without hesitation.
