किरातरूपी भगवान् सुधृत्या त्वया महात्मा परितोषितो5भूत्
kirātarūpī bhagavān sudhṛtyā tvayā mahātmā paritoṣito ’bhūt
Sañjaya said: By your steadfast resolve and disciplined endurance, the Blessed Lord—who had assumed the form of a Kirāta, a mountain-hunter—the great-souled One, was wholly pleased with you. It declares that divine favor is won not by mere might, but by unwavering intent aligned with one’s dharma.
संजय उवाच
Steadfast resolve (dhṛti)—patient endurance and disciplined determination—draws divine approval; spiritual success is linked to inner firmness rather than outward force.
Sañjaya reports that the Lord, appearing in the guise of a Kirāta (hunter), became pleased with the addressed hero because of that person’s unwavering fortitude.
