बलाहकेनेव महाबलाहको यदृच्छया वा गिरिणा यथा गिरि: । तथा धनुर्ज्यातलनेमिनिस्वनै: समीयतुस्ताविषुवर्षवर्षिणौ,जैसे महान् मेघ किसी दूसरे मेघके साथ अथवा दैवेच्छासे एक पर्वत दूसरे पर्वतके साथ टक्कर लेनेके लिये उद्यत हो, उसी प्रकार धनुषकी प्रत्यंचा, हथेली तथा रथके पहियोंकी गम्भीर ध्वनिके साथ बाणोंकी वर्षा करते हुए वे दोनों वीर एक-दूसरेके सामने आये
balāhakeneva mahābalāhako yadṛcchayā vā giriṇā yathā giriḥ | tathā dhanurjyātalaneminisvanaiḥ samīyatus tāv iṣuvarṣavarṣiṇau ||
Sañjaya said: As a mighty cloud meets another cloud, or as one mountain, by the turn of fate, rushes to collide with another, so those two heroes—pouring down showers of arrows—advanced to face each other amid the deep sounds of bowstrings, palms striking, and chariot-wheels.
