अतिक्रमेच्च माहात्म्याद् दिष्टमप्यर्थपर्ययम् । अतिक्रान्ते च लोकानामभावो नियतं भवेत्,“ये अपनी महिमासे दैवके भी निश्चित विधानको पलट सकते हैं; यदि ऐसा हुआ तो सम्पूर्ण लोकोंका अवश्य ही अन्त हो जायगा
atikramec ca mahātmyād diṣṭam apy artha-paryayam | atikrānte ca lokānām abhāvo niyataṁ bhavet ||
Sañjaya said: “By sheer greatness one might even overturn what fate has fixed, reversing the ordained course of events. But if such a transgression of the cosmic order were to occur, the inevitable result would be the dissolution of the worlds themselves.”

Even if extraordinary power could overturn destiny, violating the ordained cosmic order (dharma/niyati) is portrayed as destabilizing reality itself; ethical restraint is implied because unchecked overriding of fate leads to universal ruin.
