ततोडन््तरिक्षे साक्षेपा विवादा भरतर्षभ । मिथो भेदाश्न भूतानामासन् कर्णार्जुनान्तरे,भरतश्रेष्ठ) तदनन्तर अन्तरिक्षमें स्थित हुए समस्त भूतोंमें कर्ण और अर्जुनकी जय- पराजयको लेकर परस्पर आक्षेपयुक्त विवाद और मतभेद पैदा हो गया
tad anantaram antarikṣe sākṣepā vivādā bharatarṣabha | mitho bhedāś ca bhūtānām āsan karṇārjunāntare ||
Sañjaya said: Thereafter, O bull among the Bharatas, among all the beings stationed in the mid-air there arose contentious, accusatory disputes and mutual differences of opinion concerning the victory and defeat of Karṇa and Arjuna.
