Sañjaya said: Then, roaring in unison with Dhṛṣṭadyumna, Uttamaujā, Janamejaya, the enraged Yudhāmanyu, and Śikhaṇḍin—acting together—pierced Karṇa with volleys of arrows. In the press of battle, their coordinated assault reflects the warriors’ resolve to check a formidable foe through collective effort rather than solitary pride.

Even in a dharmic war, power must be met with disciplined coordination: the verse highlights how a dangerous adversary is checked through united effort, not mere individual display, implying an ethic of responsibility in the use of force.
Dhṛṣṭadyumna and allied Pāñcāla fighters—Uttamaujā, Janamejaya, Yudhāmanyu, and Śikhaṇḍin—raise battle-cries and, acting together, strike Karṇa with many arrows, wounding him amid the ongoing combat.
