Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the war-ethic of decisive action: in a dharma-yuddha setting, a warrior’s resolve and skill can culminate in lethal finality, reminding the listener that martial choices carry irreversible moral and existential consequences.

Sañjaya, narrating the battle, invokes or urges that Karṇa’s swift arrows be loosed with deadly effect—piercing a vital point and consigning the opponent to Yama’s domain—signaling an imminent, life-ending strike in the combat.
