हीना सूर्येन्दुनक्षत्रैद्यौरिवा भाति भारती । “इसके प्रधान-प्रधान योद्धा नष्ट हो गये। घोड़े, रथ और हाथी भी मार डाले गये। अब यह कौरवसेना सूर्य, चन्द्रमा और नक्षत्रोंस रहित आकाशके समान श्रीहीन जान पड़ती है
Transliteration
hīnā sūryendunakṣatrair dyaur ivā bhāti bhāratī |
Translation
Sañjaya said: Deprived of its sun, moon, and stars, the sky loses its splendor; so too does the Kaurava host now appear—its foremost warriors destroyed, and its horses, chariots, and elephants slain—stripped of dignity and radiance by the moral and material ruin that follows relentless war.
