Sañjaya said: “Thus, many auspicious omens were indicating to Arjuna, the son of Pāṇḍu, the destruction of the enemy forces and, in particular, the impending slaying of Karṇa.”

The verse underscores the Mahābhārata’s motif that moral and cosmic order (dharma) manifests through signs: auspicious omens align with the just outcome of a dharma-yuddha, foreshadowing the fall of adharma-aligned forces and the destined end of a great warrior like Karṇa.
Sañjaya reports that numerous favorable portents are appearing, and these are interpreted as foretelling Arjuna’s success—specifically, the destruction of the opposing army and the imminent slaying of Karṇa in the ongoing Kurukṣetra battle.
