तौ विदार्य महासेनां प्रविष्टी केशवार्जुनौ
tau vidārya mahāsenāṁ praviṣṭī keśavārjunau
Sañjaya said: Having torn through the vast host, Keśava and Arjuna pressed deep into the enemy ranks. The line marks their resolute advance—courage and skill yoked to duty—while also hinting at war’s moral weight, where even righteous purpose moves through immense destruction.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights steadfast action in one’s appointed duty (kṣatriya-dharma): decisive effort and courage, guided by right leadership (Keśava), even amid the grave moral cost inherent in war.
Sañjaya reports that Kṛṣṇa (as charioteer) and Arjuna forcefully break through a massive opposing formation and enter deep into the enemy host, signaling an aggressive push in the battle of the Karṇa Parva.
