Sañjaya said: “This seems right to me, O Kṛṣṇa—yet do as it seems right to you. Let us go there where Karṇa is driving our army back. Leaving the Saṁsaptakas on the battlefield, now steer the chariot toward the great chariot-warrior, the charioteer’s son.”

Educational Q&A

Even amid urgent warfare, sound action is framed as counsel and consent: the speaker offers a strategic judgment yet defers to Kṛṣṇa’s superior discernment. The verse highlights disciplined decision-making—proposing what seems right while acknowledging a higher guide’s perspective.

Sañjaya reports a tactical shift: with Karṇa pressing and scattering their forces, the chariot is to be driven toward Karṇa. The Saṁsaptakas—who are separately engaged—are to be left behind for the moment, focusing attention on confronting the foremost threat, Karṇa.
