Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the self-destructive nature of unchecked violence: when combat becomes mutual slaughter, the battlefield turns into a moral collapse where life is consumed in bloodshed, warning that dharma is endangered when rage and vengeance dominate.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the opposing forces are striking each other relentlessly; the army is soaked in blood and, through reciprocal blows, is being driven toward annihilation.
