Arjuna’s resolve for Karṇa’s defeat

Sañjaya said: Though they were being struck by sharp arrows, they seized hold of him and cried out loudly. United together, they surrounded that vast chariot of Arjuna, the son of Pāṇḍu; even under the cutting rain of shafts, they clung to the chariot and shouted with force—an image of desperate valor that, in the ethics of battle, shows how fear and resolve can drive warriors to collective action even when the cost is immediate suffering.
