कर्णेन सैन्यस्थापनं तथा नानायुद्धसमवायः

Karna Reforms the Host and Multiple Duels Converge

व्रात्यानां दासमीयानां कृते5प्यशुभकर्मणाम्‌ । ब्रह्मणा निन्दिते धर्मे स त्वं लोके किमब्रवी:,संस्कारहीन, जारज और पापकर्मी पंचनदवासियोंके धर्मकी जब ब्रह्माजीने सत्ययुगमें भी निन्‍दा की, तब तुम उसी देशके निवासी होकर जगत्‌मे क्‍यों धर्मोपदेश करने चले हो?

Translation

“That is the dharma Brahmā condemned—the dharma of the Vrātyas and the Dāsamīyas, of those without the purificatory rites, of the base-born, and of those who commit inauspicious deeds. Why then do you, a man of that land, go about preaching dharma to the world?”
