Sañjaya said: “O King, on the other side Yuyutsu was driving back the great host of your sons. Seeing this, Ulūka swiftly rushed there and cried out to Yuyutsu, ‘Stand! Stand!’”

Even amid mass warfare, individual agency and allegiance matter: Yuyutsu’s effectiveness against his own side highlights the Mahābhārata’s ethical tension between birth-based loyalty and chosen dharma, while Ulūka’s command ‘Stand!’ frames the kṣatriya expectation of facing a challenger rather than relying on numbers.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Yuyutsu is pushing back the Kaurava forces. Ulūka quickly arrives to confront him directly and challenges him to stop and fight.
